SCRANTON - Lackawanna College, in conjunction with the Northeastern PA Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), will present former New York Giants star Lee Rouson, who will speak to student-athletes about playing drug free. The event will take place on March 8, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Lackawanna College Student Union Gymnasium. Lee recently spoke at the NEPA Miners Minor League football teams Press Conference introducing FCA.
The initiative is called “One Way 2 Play” (OW2P) and is one of America’s most successful, faith-based drug and alcohol prevention programs. Since OW2P began in 1991, more than 500,000 students have committed to play drug and alcohol-free with nearly 50,000 making commitments just last year alone.
Rouson, who played seven seasons in the NFL with the Giants and Cleveland Browns, is the New Jersey FCA Regional Director. He was a two-time Super Bowl Champion in New York under Bill Parcells.
The event is open to public. Call Lackawanna College Career Coordinator Dan LaMagna for more information at (570)-504-1579. For more information on FCA and OW2P, visit them on the web at www.fca.org.
